In my view, the nation-state is the devil’s cleverest invention for getting people to kill one another with automatic weapons.
The remedy for this is trade, tourism, sports, the internet, and learning the language and culture of one’s neighbors 
— a far more reliable guarantee of security than hardware at the border.
